The brand name STAEDTLER, known for the development and manufacture of ink for writing and plotting devices, forms the basis for STAEDTLER INK JET’s extensive product range of ink for large format and Continuous Jet printers.


Since 1984 STAEDTLER INK JET has offered the following products and services:

  • Innovative ink design for printer manufacturers (using their own brand name)
  • Tailor-made ink solutions for well-known industrial customers
  • Plug-and-play-solutions for popular large format printers

1662 Friedrich Staedtler opens his pencil factory
1835 Johann Sebastian Staedtler founds the company STAEDTLER
1964 Launch of the ink-based Lumocolor® pens for writing on almost all surfaces (e.g. overhead film)
1973 Start of the OEM business with plotter pens
